Spirit Vale

Our beginner guides for Spirit Vale, the first raid wing

Getting Through It: Vale Guardian

Vale Guardian is the first raid boss in Spirit Vale aka Wing, and for a lot of players it's their first real step into raiding. Unfortunately, plenty of those players walk away after things don't go well and never come back. If that sounds like you, this guide is for you. It isn't about speed, efficiency, or running whatever the meta comp is this patch. It's a team composition and a plan that's hard to fail. If play this comp you'll have the breathing room to actually learn the mechanics. Once those click, you'll walk into your next raid with the confidence that makes everything after this easier

Getting Through It: Spirit Woods

Traverse the Spirit Woods aka Spirit Run, happens right after Vale Guardian. It is not a raid boss, it is an event in Spirit Vale, and some teams skip it, even more so now that you can open any wing at any boss or event. If your team is new to raiding though, Spirit Run is a must-do. - It adds a ton to the atmosphere of the wing, and it also awards a Legendary Insight. On top of that there is an achievement, "Keeping the Lights On," for carrying a lit brazier through the event, and the brazier lets you convert a Soul Mirror into an Infused Soul Mirror if you are working the Envoy Armor I legendary armor collection.

Getting Through It: Gorseval

Gorseval the Multifarious is the second boss in Spirit Vale, and for a lot of groups it has a bad reputation, mostly because most guides are focused on skipping the World Eater mechanic. That skip is the fastest way down, and we will set you up for it, but this guide also shows you how to pivot mid fight if the damage is not there, so your team never feels stuck on progression. To skip World Eater cleanly, your eight damage and boon damage players want to average roughly 15k DPS each (more is better), but don't sweat that number on your first pulls. Learn the rhythm first and the DPS follows.
