About Us

Founded in 2020, Skein Gang is a gaming community dedicated to uniting players into teams. Most known for our Guild Wars 2 raid statics, we help players find comradery and achieve the endgame goals through teamwork, growth mindsets, and a few lighthearted memes along the way.

Skein Gang began as a little community dedicated to vanquishing a world boss in Guild wars 2 – Drakkar. During the COVID times of 2020, the small community met nearly every day at approximately the same time and got together to see if they could beat the “world record” for fastest completion. After some theorizing, the guild realized that we needed to start beating raid bosses to earn the “White Mantle Portal Device”, which would ultimately hasten our runs.

We never expected that one small decision would end up producing such a vibrant raiding community.

Rather than subject ourselves to constant pugging, we sought to create a raid team. But, as it turns out, more than 20 people wanted to be on a team. So, we made two… then three… then ten… then 100! Today, Skein Gang hosts approximately 140 endgame content focused teams.

So, what are we all about? We believe in growth mindsets. That is, we believe in constantly trying to improve ourselves. We may not be the most skilled or talented, but our effort and consistent desire to improve is what sets us apart.

We host groups communally so that, in the event that someone can’t make raid night, teams can go to the broader community and ask for a replacement. This creates a system whereby people can share experiences and strategies across teams and ensure that there is some level of trust among players.
